The esteemed Centre for Inquiry Investigations Group (CFIIG) has officially announced a unique initiative, offering an impressive sum of $500,000 as a reward. This substantial amount is offered to any individual who can successfully demonstrate any form of paranormal, supernatural, or occult power under conditions that adhere to stringent scientific testing standards. This pioneering initiative has been aptly named the 'Paranormal Challenge' by the organization.
In an effort to further incentivize participation and broaden the scope of this challenge, CFIIG has extended an additional $5,000 bonus. This bonus will be granted to any individual who refers a participant who subsequently manages to successfully demonstrate abilities or phenomena that can be classified as otherworldly or beyond the realm of conventional understanding.
According to information available on their official website, CFIIG is committed to maintaining a fair and transparent process throughout this initiative. The organization will work closely with applicants to meticulously design the test protocol and clearly define the conditions under which the test will be conducted. This is done to ensure that the testing environment is controlled and conducive to an accurate assessment of the claimed abilities or phenomena.
Typically, the assessment process involves an informal demonstration of the claimed ability or phenomenon. Provided the initial demonstration is successful and yields promising results, it will be followed by a formal test. This formal test will be conducted under the careful supervision of representatives from CFIIG to ensure the integrity of the results and the fairness of the process.
The CFIIG has established dedicated testing facilities at CFI West, located in Los Angeles, California, and in the San Francisco Bay area. These facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and are designed to create an environment conducive to accurate testing. In special cases, where the participant may not be able to travel to these locations, the tests may be administered by one of CFIIG's affiliate organizations located around the world.
This initiative by CFIIG is a remarkable step towards promoting scientific inquiry into areas traditionally considered beyond the purview of conventional understanding. By doing so, it opens up new avenues for exploration and understanding in the field of paranormal and supernatural phenomena.
The Centre for Inquiry Investigations Group (CFIIG) encourages individuals who believe they possess extraordinary abilities to come forward and demonstrate their skills. However, it is imperative that these skills can be reliably demonstrated within a reasonable time, particularly in the presence of their investigators. If the ability in question is intermittent or unpredictable, it may not be feasible to conduct a thorough and reliable examination.
Please note that if your abilities cannot be tested online, it will be necessary for you to arrange for travel to either our Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area locations, or to one of our approved field investigators. All expenses related to travel and accommodation for the preliminary demonstration and the final testing will need to be borne by the applicant.
CFIIG are committed to ensuring that the testing protocol is objective, fair, and balanced for all parties involved. Applicants are encouraged to provide detailed descriptions of their abilities using our online application, following which we will work collaboratively with you to establish a scientific and impartial testing protocol.
It is worth noting that the CFIIG, under the leadership of Executive Director James Underdown, is an organization that promotes scepticism. Their goal is to inculcate a culture of scepticism worldwide, particularly in relation to extraordinary claims. To this end, we actively engage in the investigation and testing of such claims.
The term 'sceptic' is sometimes used pejoratively in discussions of the paranormal. However, at the CFIIG, they define a sceptic as an individual who relies on scientific evidence when examining extraordinary claims. Importantly, a sceptic, unlike a denier, is willing to revise their beliefs in light of new evidence. In contrast, a denier remains unyielding in their positions, irrespective of the weight of the evidence that contradicts their beliefs.
So far, in the year 2024, they have tested two individuals who claimed to possess paranormal abilities. One individual, hailing from Texas, claimed to possess telekinetic abilities, while a woman from Las Vegas claimed to have the ability to manipulate cloud formations with her mind. Unfortunately, neither individual was able to successfully demonstrate the abilities they claimed to possess.
