Highgate Cemetery in London, England is steeped in history, dating back to the mid-19th century. However, it gained notoriety in the late 1960s and early 1970s for something much more sinister - the Highgate Vampire.

The Highgate Vampire incident is one of the most well-known and controversial vampire legends of modern times. At the centre of this incident is Sean Manchester, a self-proclaimed vampire hunter who claimed to have encountered and battled a vampire in the Highgate Cemetery. The media reaction to the incident was quite varied, from sensationalized coverage to outright scepticism.

When the strange occurrences in the cemetery first began to be reported, the media was quick to pick up on the story. Many newspapers and television programs ran sensationalized articles and segments about the supposed vampire, complete with dramatic re-enactments and ominous music. Some even went as far as to claim that a real vampire was roaming the streets of London.

Despite the scepticism from many in the media, the Highgate Vampire incident continued to capture the public's imagination. Many people were drawn to the idea of a vampire lurking in a cemetery in the heart of London, and the story continued to be a popular topic of conversation and media coverage.
